The ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (ADM+S) is a new, cross-disciplinary, national research centre, which aims to create the knowledge and strategies necessary for responsible, ethical, and inclusive automated decision-making. The ADM+S Centre is hosted at RMIT University with nodes located at eight other Australian universities, and partners around the world. It brings together universities, industry, government and the community to support the development of responsible, ethical and inclusive automated decision-making.
With a vision for responsible, ethical and inclusive automated decision-making the Centre’s objectives are to:
Research from the centre will be used to inform public policy and procedures, shape debate on the automated decision-making technology, and train future researchers and practitioners in the field.
The Centre brings together leading researchers in the humanities, social and technological sciences in an international industry, research and civil society network. It is led by Distinguished Professor Julian Thomas from RMIT’s School of Media and Communications.
