Join the club! How Campus Fest is keeping students connected

Campus Fest (held 14-20 March) gave new and returning students the chance to interact with one of RMIT’s many student-led clubs and societies.

City, Brunswick, and Bundoora campuses were pumping with music, performers and free food while leaders of clubs and societies were given the chance to showcase what their clubs are all about.

Students were treated to countless opportunities to learn about how to get involved outside of the classroom, with over 160 student-led clubs on offer.

Second year Journalism student and Treasurer/Administration manager of the Journalism Society (JSOC) Sienna Seychell, said that Campus Fest helps bring the RMIT community together.

“Campus Fest was an exciting day filled with so many activities, events and stalls dedicated to bringing the campus together in all aspects,” she said.

“RMIT feels like one big community, where I had the opportunity to meet new people not only through my stall but in the lines as well.”

Sienna said joining a club helps students stay connected outside the classroom.

I encourage all students to join a club in order to build community within the university.

“It's extremely gratifying to feel a part of something bigger than just your degree and it serves an amazing opportunity for friendship, leadership and networking.”
