Important: RMIT is required to remove your access to all student systems when you are no longer a student in order to comply with our obligations under the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979. Please be aware that this means that you will not be able to access your RMIT student email account and any emails within this account when you are no longer enrolled.
The University’s email provider is Microsoft Outlook. Access your RMIT email account via outlook.office.com.

Your email is your student ID followed by @student.rmit.edu.au
For example: s1234567@student.rmit.edu.au
Password
Use the password you created via RMIT ID and password.
Your email alias is the name version of your email address. For example, joe.smith@student.rmit.edu.au
Your email alias is automatically created from your RMIT student record. From early November 2022, your email alias is created from your preferred name details once you’ve updated these in Enrolment Online (except for students from RMIT Online). If you haven't registered a preferred name, it is created from your legal name.
Reminder: use your email address (not your email alias) when logging into Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook Email and other RMIT systems and services that use email address for authentication.
