All members of the public are welcome. All attendees must be fully vaccinated.
Please be advised that the procedures within our student clinics have changed and all new and existing clients will be required to comply with new processes.
To assist with you having a good experience please note the following:
Students will apply a type of massage that uses the fingers, palms and thumbs to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. Treatment techniques can include longitudinal stokes, tapotement, cross friction and kneading. It is often used to relieve tension and pain in the muscles and joints. This service is offered later in Semester One when students have gained some knowledge and skills in the Diploma of Remedial Massage.
Students will continue to build upon their Soft Tissue Massage skills and techniques by learning assessment knowledge by body region. A treatment will include subjective assessment questions, Global Posture assessment, body region active/passive/resistive range of movement and Special Tests. From this information they will then put together a Client consented, and Supervisor approved treatment plan. The treatment itself could include those techniques used in the Soft Tissue Treatment as well as assisted stretching techniques, cupping, thermotherapy, triggerpoint therapy, and myofascial tension technique. This service is available from Semester Two and Semester Three students of the Diploma of Remedial Massage
The aim of a Myotherapy treatment is to assess, treat and manage injuries, pain and dysfunction. Within a Myotherapy treatment, students will apply a range of techniques which could include myofascial dry needling, cupping, corrective exercises rehabilitation, massage techniques and joint mobilisation (not to be confused with joint manipulation). The student clinicians will contextualise subjective and objective information into clinical reasoning and problem solving to produce a client consented and Supervisor approved treatment plan.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide Pregnancy Massage as a service at this time.
