Student Advisory Board

The Student Advisory Board (SAB) is a standing body of 12-15 students. Its members contribute to Library decision-making by representing student needs and preferences, and by providing feedback and suggestions on Library services and offerings. 

The Student Advisory Board meets three times per semester. A pilot meeting will take place in November 2023.

We are looking for students from all colleges and levels of study across our Australian campuses who will be continuing their studies in 2024. The 12-15 members of the Board will be chosen through a nomination/expression of interest process.

If you are a staff member, you can nominate a student for the Library’s Student Advisory Board.

SAB members are expected to:

• Attend Board meetings (preferably on-site at the Carlton Library, lunch provided).

• Offer ideas and suggestions to help the Library improve and better serve the student body.

• Share your knowledge of the student experience at RMIT. 

By joining the Student Advisory Board, you will

• Help shape our services and influence the future of the Library. 

• Learn about and contribute to Library efforts to gather student feedback, including the opportunity to participate in feedback sessions.

• Develop communication skills, gain leadership experience, and build your resume.
