The Bachelor of Business Professional Practice gives you access to all of the options in the (3-year) Bachelor of Business with the added benefit of a dedicated minor (in Study and Work) and professional experiences with industry partners, research centres, start-up support networks and/or the not-for-profit sector.
This degree is closely integrated with industry and real-world problem solving as an integral part of the learning experience. We have partnered with key organisations in industry to help build what you will learn in your classes.
With a focus on collaboration, the learning experience at RMIT will mostly be delivered through face-to-face classes. Relevant learning materials and content will be available online and can be accessed prior to and in-between classes via our digital learning platform.
During classes, you'll deepen your knowledge by connecting with expert teachers and undertaking projects and assessments that are both individual and collaborative, so that you can graduate work-ready.
You'll also gain a range of opportunities beyond the classroom, which may include global and industry experiences. You will be given a study plan to choose your major/minor combinations. You will need to choose the relevant subjects to form your major and minor in enrolment.
Yes, you can change to a Bachelor of Business (Professional Practice) during your Bachelor of Business, however students should be aware that these two courses have different structures. Due to these differences the later in the course that a student transfers the more likely they are to increase the duration of their study.
You can also change your major halfway through your degree provided you have sufficient credit points available.
Yes! Students who are studying at another institution, TAFE or university can apply to study at RMIT and may be eligible to receive credit for their previous study.
There are no exams in the Bachelor of Business, except where required for professional accreditation.
Both the Bachelor of Business and the Bachelor of Business (Professional Practice) can be completed part time. Completing the Bachelor of Business part-time takes 6 years, while completing the Bachelor of Business (Professional Practice) part-time takes 8 years.
You can take up to 48 credit points (4 courses) of University electives from outside the College of Business and Law.
All students studying the Bachelor of Business (Professional Practice) degree will undertake a virtual internship where industry partners are provided. You will need to source and apply for placement for other internship opportunities.
